A production fault causes a serious fire overnight. Thanks to the amazing dedication of all employees, COLASIT AG is able to transfer the entire production process to a temporary “replacement hall” in a very short time.

After just 11 months of building time, a new production hall and the office building in Spiez can be occupied. The company headquarters is moved from Wimmis to Spiez.
Colasit starts to produce scrubbers.
Large investments pending: Colasit procures a vacuum moulding machine to streamline fan production. A building welding machine is developed in-house at the same time. Plastic welding is performed using ultrasound for the first time in the same year.
Together with Sodafabrik Zurzach, COLASIT AG develops a system for phosphate precipitation in wastewater purification systems, which can be installed in numerous flue gas treatment systems in the subsequent years.
Director Fritz Studer dies unexpectedly. The previous technical manager and vice director, Hans Fröhlich takes over management of the company.
The subsidiary Colasit Holland B.V. is founded in s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands with the aim of getting a foot in the door in the EEC and increasing business in the den Benelux countries.
The fans are demonstrated to the experts for the first time at the “K59” international plastics trade fair in Düsseldorf. The injection-moulded impeller and the high air throughput are a world’s first which attracted much attention.
In addition to general plastic machining and system construction, Colasit develops a range with 16 different plastic fans.
COLASIT AG was sold to a new group of shareholders.
COLASIT AG was on the way to becoming an international byword when the founder and head of the company died suddenly in 1955. Due to this twist of fate and the saturated market, the company was forced to develop new products. The former authorised representative, Fritz Studer, was entrusted to lead the company and decides to expand the company into the ventilation systems sector and to drive it forward.
The first bright dipping line made of rigid polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is produced and sold.
Werner Bollinger founds COLASIT AG in Wimmis in the Bernese Oberland. During the Second World War, the company produces activated carbon and special coal, which was a scarce commodity at the time. After the end of the war, competitive pressures increase, forcing the company to develop a new device that uses surplus special coal. This new development, a filter system with an activated carbon filling, is used to neutralise poisonous nitrous gases that are produced when pickling and bright dipping non-ferrous metals. It can be sold and supplied to numerous galvanising companies in various countries around the world.
