Colasit has many years of expertise in producing fibre composite moulded parts made of glass fibres, carbon fibres, aramid fibres and reinforced synthetic resin (polyester resin, vinyl ester resin, epoxy resin). 

The moulded parts are produced as single components or part of a series and are characterised by high strength. When it comes to shape and design, the customer's wishes know almost no boundaries.

Our range of services comprises:

  • Engineering, 3D designs and layout for the moulded part including defining the material according to the area of application and purpose.
  • Manufacturing a model according to the customer's requirements internally or in cooperation with our external partners
  • Mould making based on the model for manufacturing 
  • Manufacturing the fibre composite moulded parts of GRP, CFRP or AFRP as single components or as series products
  • Manufacturing variants as hand laminate (negative and positive design), sandwich design (vacuum technology) or using the RTM procedure (resin injection)

The materials are selected according to the requirements depending on the area of application. Our material range includes all common reinforcement fibres and connection resins, mainly:

  • GRP (glass-fibre reinforced plastics, polyester), consisting of glass fibres that are embedded into a matrix made of synthetic resin. GRP is used in the industrial environment, such as for vehicle cladding, cladding for pleasure trains, impellers for fans. 
  • CFRP (carbon fibre-reinforced plastics), consisting of carbon fibres that are embedded into a matrix made of synthetic resin. CFRP is used wherever the highest level of rigidity at the lowest possible weight is required, e.g., bicycle frames, spars and wings on aircraft, motor sport. 
  • AFRP (aramid fibre/Kevlar fibre-reinforced plastics), consisting of aramid fibres and Kevlar fibres that are embedded into a matrix made of synthetic resin. AFRP is used wherever there are extreme requirements for impact resistance, material damping and abrasion resistance at as low a weight as possible, e.g., monocoque chassis on sports cars.
